Rock Star Caregiver Needed
Employer: Kaiser Family
Pay: $11.50-$12.50/hr
Category: Childcare Assistant
# of Positions: 1

Seeking one Rock Star Caregiver to help one teen during after school hours! Students of a helping profession such as education, special education, OT, PT, SLP, dietitian and nutrition, genetics, and MANY more - this experience is for you!

Qualified candidate will consistently follow a routine, providing varying degrees of help, to a teen with a developmental delay. While she can make it without help, the Rock Star Caregiver has finesse to help her achieve total independence, minimize prompts, and achieve high quality results!

Caregiver should be adept at non-intrusive standby supervision, hand over hand assist, or "you do one I do one" as needed, and judging the right amount of supervision per situation (details to come during training). After school routine includes homework help, a chore, and shower. Creating fun outdoor exercise opportunities is also a part of your role!

Well qualified candidates will:

-Empower teen to work thoroughly and accurately

-Motivate teen by appealing to intrinsic desire for independence

-Have superior communication skills with all levels of ability

-Be detail oriented (no mess left for parent after you leave)

-Have experience cooking, or can follow a recipe (meatless) to help teen do meal prep and potentially complete making an entree. Current caregiver made fresh pasta with teen so that's the standard we are used to. : )

-Show proven results as measured by teen achieving independence in ADL's & IADL's

-Communicate in a fun and positive manner

-Be on time for every Monday asked of you

And last but not least, if done right, your afternoon will include hanging out and having fun! Teen likes pop music, dancing, fashion, Packers and Badgers athletics, social media, concerts, parties, fitness and generally having a good time all of the time!

If you are extremely trustworthy, have an overabundance of patience, can leave your crap at the door, not smoke or text for the few hours of the shift, be honest, respectful, authentic, flexible, loving, caring, not steal (yes, people steal from people with disabilities) and, want the job to truly help this girl get to the next level, you may make a friend or two in the process! We look forward to hearing from you!

Additional Info:

Position is 2:00-6:00pm Monday's through May. Preference will be given to those who commit for more than this year.

We are on a bus line and welcome bus riders. Candidate with reliable transportation may be given preference in event of more than one qualified applicant, for safety and community integration reasons. Teen also has a bus pass. Readers of this ad able to collaborate with teen and take her for weekend outings using city bus are welcome to apply (please note weekend interest in your application).

Thank you for reading!
