Part-time Assistant Teachers: Engineering for Kids is looking for energetic and highly motivated students who enjoy working with kids, teaching them to be the next generation of engineers! We will provide on the job training for assistant teachers and there is the opportunity for assistants to eventually move into lead teacher positions.

Classes are student-directed and your role as the teacher is to provide direct instruction when necessary, but majority of your time is spent coaching students in their inquiry. Lesson plans, supplies, and training are provided.

This IS a true teaching opportunity, using inquiry and project based teaching methods with your class of students!

You don't need a background in engineering, as these are basic concepts that we are exposing this age group to.
You don't need a teacher's certificate, although classroom management skills are required.


Minimum High School Diploma
Responsible and dependable individual with great energy and child-friendly personality
Confident and able to work independently in a classroom setting managing a group of children (Must pass background check, no exceptions)
Flexible schedule
Open to travel to multiple locations
Prior education experience a plus
Desire to become a subject matter expert with potential to train other instructors
Have a dependable vehicle to drive to various locations throughout Dane County
Available M-F 2:15 - 5 PM at least 3 days a week
